SANTA ANA, CA (August 8, 2024) – A 23-year-old man died in a fatal traffic collision involving a vehicle and a pedestrian, according to the SAPD.

On Wednesday, August 7, 2024, at 5:37 p.m., the Santa Ana Police Department received multiple reports of a traffic collision near the intersection of N. Main Street and E. Washington Avenue.

SAPD officers and Orange County Fire Authority (OCFA) responded to the scene and found a 23-year-old man lying unconscious in the roadway.

OCFA paramedics transported him to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.

Based on the preliminary investigation, the pedestrian was skateboarding southbound along the west curb line of Main Street while the vehicle was also traveling southbound in a traffic lane near 15th Street.

At this time, alcohol or drugs do not appear to be a factor. The cause of the collision remains under investigation.

The Orange County Coroner’s Office identified the decedent as Peter Bryan Duran Morquecho (23) of Anaheim.
