SANTA ANA, CA – A 41-year-old man was arrested for possession of explicit content involving minors, according to the SAPD.

The investigation was initiated by a Civilian Investigator assigned to the Los Angeles Regional Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force who learned that John Luis Conde (41) was downloading Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM) over the internet.

As a result of the investigation, a search warrant was served at a residence located in the 900 block of N. Minter Street in Santa Ana, California where electronic devices were seized and evidence relating to the downloading of explicit content involving minors was located.

Santa Ana Police Department Detectives subsequently arrested Conde of Santa Ana for a violation of Penal Code § 311.11(a)—Felony Possession of explicit content involving minors, and he was booked at the Santa Ana Detention Facility.

  1. How did the Santa Ana Police know about the download? The download was a sting? A citizen has privacy rights and was it a civil violation. Does the Santa Ana Police pick and choose its arrest? Or did a unknown hacker planted the downloads. The court will decide.

  2. In a perfect world it would be more productive to bust the creeps who put up the website and made the material available in the first place., but I guess that’s not feasible. Is it?
