Fullerton Police press release

On Monday, December 9, 2024, at approximately 8:01 PM, police officers responded to the area of S. Euclid St. and W. Orangethorpe Ave. regarding a subject down in the roadway, according to the Fullerton Police Department.

Upon arrival, officers located an adult female and a bicycle in the eastbound lanes of W. Orangethorpe Ave. at Jefferson Ave. The pedestrian appeared to have been struck by a vehicle. The Fullerton Fire Department arrived on scene and pronounced the female deceased.

Preliminary investigations indicates that the female was walking her bicycle in the number one eastbound lane of W. Orangethorpe when she was struck by a black, 2003 Lexus RX 300. The driver of the Lexus, a 32-year-old resident of Westminster, remained at the scene and is cooperating with investigators.

During the initial investigation, Accident Investigators learned that the female had been struck by a second vehicle after the initial collision. Investigators are looking to identify a light-colored pickup truck that was involved in the second collision with the pedestrian and fled the scene.

At this time, it is unknown whether drugs or alcohol played a factor in the cause of the collision.
The identity of the pedestrian will be released by the Orange County Coroner’s Office.
