John Motesharrei, a 40-year-old Westminster man, pleaded guilty on his birthday Tuesday to a hit-and-run collision that killed Juan Ramirez Garcia, a 48-year-old Santa Ana man who was jogging in Fountain Valley, according to the O.C. Register.
Motesharrei pleaded guilty to hit and run with permanent injury, a felony, and hit and run with property damage, a misdemeanor. Continue reading

Daniel Enrique Ramirez, 24, of Santa Ana; and Joshua Rudy Ramirez, 21, of Corona, pleaded guilty to gang activity, eluding police and possession of a firearm by a felon, according to the O.C. Register.
Both men were sentenced to eight years in prison after they led the SAPD on a high-speed pursuit that began in Santa Ana and ended when they crashed into an 80-year-old woman’s bedroom in Fountain Valley. Continue reading
Three people were arrested Thursday, Nov. 9, following a high-speed police pursuit that began in Fountain Valley and ended in Huntington Beach, according to the O.C. Register.
Fatal Traffic Collision and Officer Involved Shooting
On 10/13/2017 at 11:34 PM, Fountain Valley Police Officers responded to a fatal traffic collision at Magnolia and Mint. While investigating the fatal collision at 5:16 AM, a suspect driving a black Dodge pick-up truck drove at officers and through the fatal traffic collision scene. The suspect turned around and drove at officers a second time, and an officer involved shooting occurred.
The suspect fled the area and was stopped by officers at Bushard, south of Edinger, where he was arrested. No officers were injured and the male suspect was transported to a local hospital for non-life threatening injuries. Continue reading

Jorge Hugo Molina , a 39-year old Santa Ana man, is facing kidnapping and domestic violence charges after police say he dragged a woman into a vehicle, according to the O.C. Register.
PRESS RELEASE/ FATAL TRAFFIC COLLISION
On March 25, 2017 at approximately 7:15 p.m., the Fountain Valley Police Department responded to the intersection of Brookhurst Street and Heil Avenue, next to Mile Square Park, regarding a traffic collision involving a Lexus SUV and a motorcyclist.
Officers arrived and found a male motorcyclist with traumatic injuries. Paramedics were summoned to the scene. The paramedics pronounced the motorcyclist, identified as 20 year old Armando Vega Andrade from Santa Ana, deceased at the scene. Continue reading
Joseph Anthony Perez, 27-years old, pleaded guilty and was sentenced on Monday to five years in prison for committing two bank robberies and two attempted stickups in Santa Ana and Fountain Valley in a three-day period, according to the O.C. Register.
Perez was out of custody for about two weeks when he began the bank-robbing spree. He was sentenced back on Feb. 10 to two years in jail for pleading guilty in September to burglary and grand theft charges. Continue reading

This is the sixth in a series of six bank robbery incidents in Santa Ana and Fountain Valley. At 3:13 p.m., the suspect entered the Bank of the West. After providing the demand note, the teller gave the suspect an unspecified amount of money along with a tracking device. On February 7, 2017, at 3:00 pm, Jerry White left his residence in the area of Edinger and Magnolia and went for a walk.
White never returned. White suffers from Dementia and frequently walks around his neighborhood. This is the first time White has gone missing. Continue reading
A third suspect in a Santa Ana cafe robbery, Marc Louis Gold of Fountain Valley, 21, was arrested Wednesday, according to the O.C. Register.
Gold was arrested at his home and booked on suspicion of robbery. He was supposedly the mastermind of a robbery that involved two other 17-year-old boys, whose names were not released because of their age, according to the SAPD. One of the teens, who lives in Westminster, turned himself in on Dec. 2, and the other teen, who lives in Santa Ana, was arrested on Thursday. The teens were booked at Juvenile Hall on suspicion of armed robbery. Continue reading
HOMELESSNESS ALONG THE SANTA ANA RIVER
The Department has received inquiries regarding an increase in homeless/transient persons who have taken up residence along the Santa Ana River and river trail area.
The riverbed and river trail are the jurisdiction of County of Orange and the Sheriff’s Department. As such, the encampment and crime and quality of life issues related to it are not directly in our jurisdiction. The County and Sheriff’s Department have a countywide strategy in dealing with these issues; including outreach, education and enforcement. Either this relatively new encampment or the homeless/transients that have lived under the overpasses of the Santa Ana River for many years have an impact on our community when they come into town. INDECENT EXPOSURE ARREST
On December 4, 2016, at approximately 7:30 a.m., Fountain Valley Police Officers were dispatched to the rear alley of 18533 Brookhurst Street in reference to a subject masturbating in public.
Officers arrived on scene and located William Bowyer (31) from Hemet, who was lying on the ground in a sleeping bag. Bowyer admitted to lewd behavior in public. Continue reading
