Patrol officers responded to suspects tagging gang graffiti in a neighborhood off of Walnut Ave., according to the Tustin Police Department.
A patrol officer saw a vehicle leaving the area and conducted a traffic stop near Mcfadden and the 55-freeway for various violations of the California Vehicle Code.
Several red flags went off for the officer and a high-risk vehicle stop was conducted.
After safely detaining the occupants, both documented members of a criminal street gang, the officer noticed the car smelled of fresh paint. A search ensued and the officer found paint spray cans in the back seat of the vehicle. A stolen Glock handgun was then located under the driver’s seat.

Those gangbangers are now likely looking at felony charges for vandalism, failure to stop, theft and weapons charges and gang enhancements.
