In early October, Tustin patrol officers detained a suspect as he fled a local retail store. The suspect, and his accomplice, were wanted in connection with approximately 21 felony cases of retail theft and nearly $20,000 of loss. On that day, his accomplice eluded capture.

Through a variety of investigative techniques and collaboration with other law enforcement agencies, the second suspect was identified.

Earlier this Wednesday, the outstanding accomplice was located in the City of Anaheim by Detectives and was informed of the change to his holiday plans.

The suspect was transported to Orange County Jail.

While he was at the Orange County Jail, the Deputies recognized their suspect and realized they had just arrested his accomplice for an additional retail theft in the City of Mission Viejo.

Both suspects can now look forward to eating balogna sandwiches at the Orange County Jail during the Holiday season.
