Yesterday afternoon, an Irvine resident found a burglar in her home in Culverdale and called 9-1-1.

Irvine police officers arrived quickly and found a suspicious man talking on the phone nearby. He was in possession of the victim’s wallet and other stolen items from the victim’s home.

During the investigation, a female walked by the officers and caught their attention. She was carrying items related to fraud and identity theft.

The police officers believed the two knew each other but they claimed to be strangers.

The man and woman were taken into custody and transported to the hoosegow for various charges.

The Irvine Police Dept. is very glad that the victim was uninjured during this incident.
