The Do Lunch Deli is now open at 901 West Civic Center Dr., Suite 150, in Santa Ana. They opened about two weeks ago. They are open Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The owner, Brian Doyle, has had a great admiration and fascination with delis since he was a kid. When he was young he and his grandmother went to all the delicatessens in the Los Angeles area. Inspired by that and after traveling to most every state and seeing different delis he arrived at his concept and menu.

Doyle started out in the restaurant business when he was 15, as a dishwasher at Disneyland, in the summertime. He went on to work at several delis and he also completed his education at a culinary school. He has also worked at upscale fish and steak houses and even a French restaurant.

The Do Lunch Deli serves breakfast and lunch and also does catering. Their venue can sit up to 155 people and is available for events in the evening.

Menu items include breakfast burritos, bagel sandwiches, soups, salads and deli sandwiches and wraps. They also have vegan and vegetarian options and can also do lettuce wrapped sandwiches for those who are avoiding gluten and/or carbs. Be sure to try their Titanium sandwich, which includes turkey, provolone, avocado, sprouts, peppers, olives, jalapenos, onion, spinach, lettuce tomato, cucumber, served on whole wheat bread or spinach wrap. All sandwiches come with a pickle spear and the combos come with a pickle spear, freestyle beverage & house chips. Prices range from $8 to $11 per item.

The Do Lunch Deli has nothing but positive ratings over at Yelp. Stop by and say hi to Brian. And remember them if you get stuck doing jury duty or have an event at the nearby Eddie West Field.
