Santa Ana shooting

A male teen who appeared to be 17 or 18 years old was shot in the lower back today at about 7:45 p.m. at the 700 block of North Lacy Street, according to the O.C. Register.

The victim was walking nearby on Civic Center Drive when multiple shots were fired from a passing vehicle. The SAPD suspects the shooting was possibly a gang-related attack.

The teen’s injuries do not appear to be life-threatening. The SAPD did not release the victim’s name nor were any suspects named.

The shooting happened East of the Santa Ana Civic Center, about a mile away from the SAPD headquarters, a block north of Garfield Elementary School., in Santa Ana’s Ward 2, which is represented by Council Member Michele Martinez.
