Joshua Waring, the 27-year-old troubled son of Lauri Peterson, a former star on “The Real Housewives of Orange County” was charged on Wednesday with three counts of attempted murder after leading police on a chase and hiding in a store in Santa Ana, on Monday morning, according to the O.C. Register.

Police allege that Waring shot a 35-year-old man in the lower torso around 2:30 a.m. at the man’s home in the 2900 block of Babb Street, in Costa Mesa, after a disagreement, according to the L.A. Times.

Waring was supposed to be arraigned in court today, but the hearing was postponed to tomorrow after he refused to come out of his jail cell, according to the OCDA. Waring is being held in lieu of $1 million bail.

The victim shot by Waring was listed in serious condition but is expected to survive. Prosecutors filed two additional attempted murder charges because there were two other victims, a man and a woman, standing nearby when Waring fired his gun. They were however not hit or injured.

Waring sped off from the scene of the shooting in a stolen BMW but a police helicopter caught up with him at about 10:30 a.m. The police then pursued Waring, who caused a traffic accident during the pursuit. He eventually took of on foot, in Santa Ana, near Fourth and Terminal Streets and he tried to hide in a store, which likely was H.D. Supply, before he finally surrendered after a brief standoff.

Waring, who lives in San Juan Capistrano, has been in trouble before, many times. His rap sheet goes back to at least 2008 and includes more than a dozen misdemeanor and felony charges which are mostly drug-related.

Waring has been arrested as well, for violations including assault, drug possession and spousal battery. In fact he still has several cases pending in Orange County Superior Court.

Last month Waring pleaded not guilty to a slew of charges including felony possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell and unauthorized use of personal identifying information. And he was charged on June 14 with misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance.

When Waring’s mom started in the first season of “Real Housewives,” he was in juvenile detention in Orange for a school incident that involved possible possession of marijuana.

His mom, Peterson, is one of the original “Real Housewives of Orange County,” but she quit by the middle of the fourth season, in 2009, due in part to her son’s drug problems and legal issues, as well as her sudden desire for privacy.
