On Saturday, license plate readers flagged a known shoplifter, and then Pavilions reported someone ran out with almost $1,000 in wine bottles, according to the Irvine Police Department.
The responding police officers found her at Target swapping price tags with the skill of a sommelier. Her car was a complex blend of stolen wine, stolen IDs, and a dash of methamphetamine to cleanse the palate.
Rosemary Arteaga Morfin, 32, from Anaheim, was arrested for charges such as possession of a controlled substance with prior convictions, identity theft, possession of drug paraphernalia, and shoplifting.
Her plan to commit crime in Irvine turned into sour grapes and a stay at Orange County Jail.

1. Possession of a Controlled Substance with Prior Convictions
