Santa Ana pedestrian accidents

A Santa Ana woman named Alicia Badillo, 53, who was hit by a car at 7:30 am, on Tuesday, in Tustin, near the intersection of Bryan and Newport Avenues, has died at the Western Medical Center in Santa Ana., according to the O.C. Register.

Badiollo was walking with another woman who was also injured when they were struck by a Honda.  Both women suffered head injuries.  The driver of the car did not appear to be intoxicated and he stayed at the scene of the accident.  He has not yet been identified by the police.  The driver was not arrested.

The other pedestrian who was injured has not been identified and her medical condition has not been updated.

The area of the accident is surrounded by retail and commercial centers.  There are nearby bus stops on both Newport and Bryan Avenues.  The 5 Freeway is located just a few blocks south of where the accident occurred.  Tustin High School and CC Elementary School are also located nearby the accident scene, just east of the intersection.
