A Santa Ana man has been arrested in connection with a fatal shooting, according to the Huntington Beach Police Department.
On November 9, 2025, at about 2:26 p.m., the Huntington Beach Police Department received reports of shots fired near Ash Lane and Mandrell Drive.
Responding plolice officers located an adult male victim suffering from gunshot wounds. He was transported to a local trauma center, where he later succumbed to his injuries. The victim’s identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
Detectives from the HBPD Major Crimes Unit and Special Investigations Bureau responded and assumed the investigation. The Orange County Sheriff’s Department Coroner Division and Crime Lab also assisted.
Luis Angel Mireles, 28, of Santa Ana, was identified as a person of interest. Yesterday, at approximately 11:30 p.m., detectives contacted Mireles in Santa Ana.
Based on interviews and evidence collected at the scene, Mireles was arrested and booked at the Huntington Beach City Jail for PC 187(a) – Murder and PC 1203.2 – Violation of Probation.
The investigation remains ongoing, and no additional details are being released at this time.
