First Baptist of Santa Ana, 1895

Newsong Church is hosting a holiday lunch today for anyone who was a part of Santa Ana’s historic First Baptist Church congregation.  The lunch is set for Saturday, December 20 from 11 am-1 pm at 10ten Church.

The purpose of the lunch is to honor FBC, share Newsong’s long-term vision, and “celebrate our future together.”

The meeting will be at the Fireside Room at 10ten.

10ten is located at 1010 17th St., near the intersection of Flower St. and 17th.

Newsong recently merged its Irvine congregation with the one in Santa Ana and is now holding joint services in Santa Ana.  Newsong acquired First Baptist at a time that the First Baptist congregation was dwindling and the church’s future was in doubt.

First Baptist was Santa Ana’s first protestant church and was originally built on land donated by Santa Ana’s founder, William Spurgeon.
