The City of Santa Ana has approved a contract with a security guard company to provide uniformed security guards who will drive mobile units with the City logo and be assigned, one per ward, to patrol Santa Ana’s public parks. The program will start in 6-8 weeks.

The City had tried to hire park rangers but their standards were so high that they could not find any qualified candidates.

The City is also installing security cameras and code blue poles at several parks:

  • Madison Park – installation is completed
  • Windsor Park – Installation to be completed by the end of July
  • Chepas Park – Installation to be completed by the end of July
  • Santa Anita Park – Installation to be completed by the end of July
  • Memorial Park – Installation to be completed by the end of August
  • Jerome Park – Installation to be completed by the end of September

The City’s Parks and Recreation and Community Services Agency will also soon be conducting a public Comprehensive Evaluation.

Please join the Parks and Recreation and Community Services Agency and provide your input to help determine programs, services, and fees associated with parks and recreation services in Santa Ana based on community values and priorities.

This event is free to the public.
