Our friends at Downtown Inc. have really stepped up, in the wake of the recent shooting of an Irvine resident in Downtown Santa Ana.  At their own expense the members of Downtown Inc. are going to provide security guard escorts, on foot, on bike or in a car, at almost any hour of the day or night at downtown’s bars and restaurants, shops and art galleries, according to the O.C. Register.

Patrons can request a security escort to or from parking lots and other locations in the district by calling 714-818-9538 ahead of time.

Downtown Inc.’s security budget is $200,000 a year.

I go to our Downtown Santa Ana area frequently and it is very safe indeed.  There is a lot to do and I look forward to seeing many of our readers there on Nov. 6 for the 8th Annual Noche de Altares/Dia de los Muertos event.
