On Sunday, August 13, 2023, at 1:52 AM, Santa Ana Police Communications received a report of a shooting victim at the 2700 block of N. Bristol Street.

SAPD police officers responded and located an adult male down, suffering from apparent gunshot wounds to his upper torso. Orange County Fire Authority arrived and pronounced the victim deceased at the scene.

The circumstances surrounding this homicide appear to be gang related and the investigation is ongoing. The Orange County Coroner’s Office has identified the victim as Jorge Velazquez (29) of Santa Ana.

Detectives are attempting to identify and locate any witnesses who can shed light on this incident.
