On Saturday, January 29, 2022, at 12:56 AM, Santa Ana Police Communications received several reports of shots fired in the area of 500 E. Pine Street.

Officers responded and located a male down suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to his upper torso. Officers rendered aid by applying a chest seal.

Orange County Fire Authority arrived on scene and transported the victim to OC Global Medical Center.

At 2:15 AM, the victim was pronounced deceased. The investigation revealed the shooting occurred in the area of 200 S. Oak Street.

The circumstances surrounding this homicide are currently being investigated. The Orange County Coroner’s Office has identified the victim as Daniel Sixtos (27) of Santa Ana.

Detectives are attempting to identify and locate any witnesses who can shed light on this incident.
