At about 11 o’clock this morning a Santa Ana City Council Member called 911 to report witnessing a strong arm robbery in front of their office, near 1600 E. 4th Street, according to the SAPD. (Note that Santa Ana Mayor Pro Tem Vince Sarmiento’s office is located at 1617 E. 4th St., according to the California State Bar).

The City Council Member witnessed the victim being tackled to the ground and the suspect then took his bicycle.

Sarmiento is Santa Ana

Responding SAPD police officers located the suspect and an arrest was made.

In a time where the Council Members are stating crime is down it is quite ironic that violent crime is occurring literally right in front of their faces!

  1. First, This is Vince’s office, NOT his home as he claims. He lives in Orange Park Acres, an affluent equestrian community in the hills above Orange. It’s amazing he has not been called out on this.

Secondly, what a pussy. If he witnessed an assault, he should have stepped up.

    1. I agree as he could not know if the suspect was armed. But Sarmiento should stop lying about how crime is going down in our city.

  2. I agree it was the smart thing to do. It certainly wasn’t the BRAVE thing.

As for the housing thing, he should be careful, next thing you know some commissioner dude and a underworked blogger, will plant a GPS on his car…………
