You may have noticed a white van speeding through Santa Ana this afternoon, with police cars in pursuit.

The driver of the van was suspected of stealing it. Police in Placentia had been reportedly watching the vehicle when the suspect sped off at about 2:15 p.m this afternoon, according to KTLA. However Fox News reported that the chase started in the city of Anaheim, California at around 2:35 p.m.

The suspect eventually made his way to Santa Ana then headed for Garden Grove.

The suspect then fled police over the 22 Freeway and later ended up traveling on the 405 South in Costa Mesa at 3:11 p.m, according to NBC.

At one point it appeared the driver threw a gun out the window of the vehicle. Also a passenger jumped out of the vehicle and ran away on foot, according to ABC.

The driver eventually pulled over and surrendered, in GardeN Grove, but the vehicle kept rolling down the road, sideswiping a car and hitting a curb, according to NBC.

The suspect was then arrested but his name was not released to the media.
