Yesterday, at 5:37 p.m., the Irvine Police Department (IPD) and Orange County Fire Authority (OCFA) responded to reports of a single-motorcycle traffic collision near McGaw Avenue and Armstrong Avenue.

The initial investigation shows a man lost control of his motorcycle as he drove westbound on McGaw Avenue, west of Armstrong Avenue.

OCFA personnel pronounced the man deceased at the scene. The man’s name is being withheld pending notification to the next of kin.

IPD’s Major Accident Investigation Team (MAIT) is investigating the cause of this collision. Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Joshua Balos at 949-724-7024.
