A DUI driver was arrested after passing out behind the wheel at an intersection in Tustin

Police officers were called to the intersection of Irvine and Holt regarding a male passed out behind the wheel in the early morning hours, according to the Tustin Police Department.

Officers located the vehicle running, but stopped in opposite traffic lanes with an unresponsive driver. After boxing in the vehicle, officers safely detained the driver, conducted a DUI investigation, and placed him under arrest.

Police officers in Tustin are stepping up DUI enforcement patrols this season to keep our roads safe. Whether it’s eggnog, cocktails, or anything else, if you feel tipsy, please don’t take the wheel.
