Over the weekend, a Costa Mesa police officer noticed a vehicle leaving a shopping center parking lot at a high rate of speed. The officer pulled the car over and while officers were conducting the traffic stop, they learned of a vehicle burglary that had just occurred.

A suspect had broken a car window, crawled in, and stolen $10,000 from the center console of someone’s vehicle parked at the shopping center while the getaway vehicle waited nearby.

Turns out the police officer had pulled over the suspect’s car.

The vigilant police officer arrested the suspects and returned the money to the grateful victim.
