Rabbi Recognized for Faith-based Care at Hoag Hospital

Rabbi Reuven Mintz Receives Fairhaven Memorial Park’s Oliver Halsell Care Award

NEWPORT BEACH, Calif., July 16, 2015 – For Newport Beach resident Rabbi Reuven Mintz, serving others is not just about providing a service to the community – it’s a personal calling. The director of the Chabad Jewish Center in Newport Beach, a leader of The Friendship Circle, and volunteer at Pastoral Care Services at Hoag Hospital, Rabbi Mintz wears many different hats, and his passions lie in making the lives and well being of others a priority during times of need. He also is known for protecting and guiding the lives of others, and offers solace to those whose lives come to an unfortunate end.

Rabbi Mintz is the July/August recipient of Fairhaven’s Oliver Halsell Care Award. Fairhaven Memorial Park & Mortuary, with locations in Santa Ana and Mission Viejo, created the recognition program in 2012 to pay tribute to individuals who have demonstrated exceptional care in their profession and community, improving the lives and spirits of those they help. Clear Choice Senior Services President Honored With Fairhaven’s Oliver Halsell Care Award

Anaheim resident Linda Armas recognized for assisting families in finding care for seniors

ANAHEIM, Calif., June 16, 2014 – After her parents grew ill, Anaheim resident Linda Armas was faced with the challenging task of finding them a safe and comfortable environment. A mother of five, Armas is part of what is known as “the sandwich generation” – individuals who care for their aging parents while still supporting young children at home. This experience inspired her to start her own business, Clear Choice Senior Services, where she helps families place their elderly loved ones in a safe environment.

Armas is the June recipient of Fairhaven’s Oliver Halsell Care Award. Fairhaven Memorial Park & Mortuary, with locations in Santa Ana and Mission Viejo, created the recognition program in 2012 to pay monthly tribute to individuals who have demonstrated exceptional care in their profession and community, improving the lives and spirits of those they help. Mission Viejo resident recognized for dedication to the senior community

MISSION VIEJO, Calif., (Mar. 19, 2014) – When her grandmother was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s, Ginger Thomas worked with her family to place her grandmother in a home. Throughout that emotionally difficult process, Thomas discovered her passion for working with seniors. Now, as a Senior Living Advisor at A Plan For Senior Care, she helps families daily find personalized care for their loved ones.

Thomas is being honored as the March recipient of Fairhaven’s Oliver Halsell Care Award. SAN CLEMENTE, CALIF. – April 22, 2013 –Martha Meyer’s path to working with seniors was an unexpected one. The San Clemente resident spent 23 years as a restaurant executive before owning a successful women’s fashion boutique in Laguna Beach.
