David Benavides doesn’t pose with his wife anymore

Updated: Just checked.  Still no mention of David Benavides’ wife or family on his campaign website.  What is up with that?

I still remember when Santa Ana Council Member David Benavides first ran for the City Council, in 2006.  Go back and look at his Smart Voter page and you will see that he proudly described himself as a “Husband of a Santa Ana school teacher, dad of a 4yr old daughter & 6mo old son.”

But take a look at Benavides’ mayoral campaign website and you will find no mention whatsoever of his family.  And his campaign Facebook page also makes no mention that he is married and that he has kids.  His Council Facebook page likewise omits any mention of his family, as does his personal page.  Click on his “profile pictures” and you get several face shots of Benavides – and no family pictures.  Even his official City Council bio omits any mention of his wife and children.

What gives?

This is a fairly shocking turn of events.  The two things I always admired about Benavides was that he once worked in youth ministry and that he was a family man.  Now I have to wonder what is going on.

A city insider told me that Benavides conducted a poll before announcing his campaign for Mayor.  One of the questions posed to voters was would they support a mayoral candidate who had cheated on his wife.  Why would he include that question in his poll?

Remember that Benavides and his wife bought their home in Santa Ana by participating in a home loan program for teachers, called the “Extra Credit Teacher Home Purchase Program,” which offered a reduced mortgage rate and $7,500 in down payment assistance to teachers who worked at low-performing schools, according to this press release.  The Benavides couple were in fact one of the first families to participate in this program.   Does Benavides have to give this money back if he and his wife are living separately now, as rumors allege?

Perhaps most unsettling is Benavides’ longtime friendship with his fellow Council Member Carlos Bustamante – who was arrested this year for numerous felony charges of sexual harassment and public theft.  Benavides is one of the only Council Members who has NOT called on Bustamante to resign.

Benavides reached out to me before he announced his campaign but I have since made it clear that I am supporting Pulido.  He does need to step up now and clarify what is going on.  Santa Ana is dominated by working families.  The voters deserve to know the truth.

This all brings to mind a slew of emails I received a few years ago from a fellow who claimed he had phone records proving that Benavides had an affair with his wife.  Apparently they worked together.  Benavides and I met afterwards and he swore there was no affair and that it was a misunderstanding.  But now his wife and family are missing from all of his websites – and you have to wonder what in the world is going on.

By contrast, Mayor Miguel Pulido’s official Council bio page proudly mentions his family.  So does his Facebook page.  Say what you will about Pulido but even his staunchest critics attest to the fact that he is a great father.

But that is not all.  While looking at Benavides’ personal Facebook page tonight I noticed he no longer is working at US Bank.  Apparently he is now a partner at a company called Civico Real Estate Group.  Now this is a problem as this company is based in Santa Ana and is involved in the sale of real estate.  Benavides now has a huge conflict of interest both as a Council Member and as a candidate for Mayor.

Why would Benavides quit his job at US Bank?  Is he going through a mid-life crisis?  Why run for Mayor under these circumstances?  It just makes no sense.  Yet this guy is the face of the supposed Santa Ana spring?

The New Santa Ana blog has been covering news, events and politics in Santa Ana since 2009.

103 thoughts on “Updated: Benavides’ wife and kids are still missing from his campaign website”
    1. Is that her name? You certainly wouldn’t know it from looking at Benavides’ websites.

And if you think this was low, know that I didn’t include the latest rumors about Benavides’ marriage. I’ll leave that to my readers.

  1. The only backside Emily will be kicking is David’s…She has packed and taken the kids to Irvine.

Bustamante’s wife could learn a thing or two from Em.

    1. Only if he is involved with properties in the PBID area. I am told that he had some interest in the scuttled attempted purchase of the Santora building by his church. That would definitely have posed a conflict.

  2. This guy is going to go down in flames by Labor day.

    1) He is ill prepared to be mayor.

    2) The closet has skeletons deeper than a simple affair.

    3) Santa Ana, no matter how progressive is not ready for this guy (see #2).

    4) Lupe, Collins will dillute the vote just enough to re-elect Miguel, who is the only viable canidate.

I have seen david speak, in small and large (20+) groups, he’s just not that well put together. I would not hire him to sell my house let alone run the city.

  3. Who is Benavides allys on the Council? Word on the streets is that Benvides is coordinating efforts with Council candidates Hart and Amezqua and that they have many of the same supporters? Usual sospechosos? Also, what place to you think Benavides will come in Mayors races? Why is he running if he cannot win or can he win?

  4. If in fact he is seperated/divorced and if in fact, infidelity is the cause, how can he possibly survive that.

The machine will eat him up:

    “Are you married”?

“Have you ever been unfaithful to your (ex) wife”?

THOSE TWO SHOTS WILL RUIN ANY CHANCE HE HAD. PERIOD.

But when it starts to get really nasty and someone asks him how a man of God, who wears his “NEWSONG” on his sleeve could do this, I expect a fumbling, disengenuous answer like: “We all have sinned. I made mistakes…..”

Now if the EX stands by him, maybe a snowballs chance in hell he makes it to Holloween, if she decides this is a great time to get even, well, poor kids is all I have to say.

Which brings up this point: What does it say a bout a man, who has not been largely successful in business (he’s areal estate agent in Santa Ana, no Brett Franklin or Sandy Deangles mind you) who aspires so much to be popular and powerful, that he would put his family through this. his behavior indicates to me a narcissistic self centered ego-maniac, with thoughts not rooted in reality. Seriously, why would any logical(Hell, leave church going out of it)man do this at this point in his life.

Wait until they start asking where his kids go to school and he answers Westpark in Irvine. That’s really a vote getter!

    How about this AD:

We have one philandering womanizer on the council in Carlos Bustamonte, do we really need one as mayor?

FIND THE WIFE ADMIN. GET THE ANSWERS!

  5. wow, is David really scaring the status quo?

I think the winning will be the name on the 4 by 6 card given to the voters who go to the polls.

  6. Cook, again is the voice of reason, logic and Benavidesexperience.

However, there is a changing face of the electorate, and that is those who vote from home. The push to reach these folks could be the key.

If the “Tom Bradley” syndrome does exist as so many claim, imagine the freedom o make your choice from the safety of your own home. Now image you are a retired Latino of reasonably conservative values and you have been inundated with negativity about this “Young Gun” Benavides, who is somehow linked to Bustamonte…….

I think you can count thse votes for David on one hand.

The stack of 4×6 cards is shrinking with each election.

    But Cook is right.

  7. For the sake of argument any martial issues and divorce are political none issues. Was not an issue for Clinton nor the mayor of L.A.

Bustamante’s alleged infidelity is associated with crimes against .women. Introducing Bustamante in this issue of a alleged Benavides divorce is apples to oranges and more important irresponsible.

  8. Not being defensive. Only stating my opinion. I hear rumors of a divorce. Probably why no mention of family.

Are saying divorced, separated and single candidates are less candidates than married candidates?

    di·vorce  (d-vôrs, -vrs)
    n.
    1. The legal dissolution of a marriage.
    2. A complete or radical severance of closely connected things.
    v. di·vorced, di·vorc·ing, di·vorc·es
    v.tr.
    1. To dissolve the marriage bond between.
    2. To end marriage with (one’s spouse) by way of legal divorce.
    3. To cut off; separate or disunite: an idea that was completely divorced from reality. See Synonyms at separate.
    v.intr.
    To obtain a divorce.
[Middle English, from Old French, from Latin dvortium, from dvortere, to divert, variant of dvertere; see divert.]

    1. I find that heartbreaking. My wife and I celebrated 25 years of marriage this year. Divorce just isn’t an option for me and I cannot understand why Benavides would put politics ahead of his family.

  9. Divorce is a private complicated decision. Placing politics ahead of martial responsibilities I suspect has nothing to do with divorce in this case if indeed a divorce is pending.

Congratulation on your 25 yr marriage many more to come. Your marriage is strong because you are happy and able to work out difference. Not everyone is so fortunate as you.

  10. Congratulations of your 25 year marriage. Don’t be judgemental of others, you dot know anything about anyone’s lives unless you live it. Don’t waste time speculating on Benavides’ love life, this is politics, not a soap opera. Bill Clinton cheated on his wife in front of the world and still ran the country, so I’m sure little ol’ Santa Ana can run just fine with a single mayor whom we have no idea what has happened in his personal life. Also, check your facts rumor mills, keep his wife and kids out of it before you claim she’s in irvine and the kids are in school there…respect the little ones and his wife and leave them out of it. Perhaps you should find more productive articles to write about like what issues and positions Benavides supports rather than silly high school speculations about who did what to who and who left who. Maybe you should write Benavides a note with “Did your wife leave you, circle yes or no?” Let’s grow up and leave the silliness in our heads rather than on permanent blogs where kids and people who could get hurt might one day read them.

    1. Did we not learn anything from the Bustamante scandal?

Family does matter in this city and I can’t imagine that very many voters are going to pick a guy who is in the midst of a mid-life crisis. There is too much at stake right now in our city to make that kind of a mistake.

FYI, I already wrote about Benavides’ “issues.” They are lame. He has not one original idea and most of his spiel is unfunded and quite frankly not realistic.

Lastly, this post got about 20 times as many hits as our post about the new parks in Santa Ana. People do care about these matters and I suspect that the Benavides campaign is already finished.

  11. Never said family doesn’t matter, just saying keep the gossip and Speculation out of it…unless you’ve personally spoken to His wife and gotten the facts, it’s irresponsible of you to create gossip. You claim family is so important? Well don’t you think you’re stirring the pot and those two little innocent children are going to somehow be affected negatively because of this gossip? Maybe Benavides hasn’t said a word BECAUSE his family is more important than the campaign and keeping them out of the rumor mill is more important. You have NO CLUE what has happened and until you DO, stop making drama. Use facts about his politics to put Benavides down if you want to, not gossip.

    1. I have not engaged in gossip. All I did was point out the FACT that Benavides does not mention his family on any of his websites, which stands in stark contrast to Mayor Pulido who proudly places his family front and center.

Benavides apparently chose to run for Mayor while his home life was falling apart. That is on him. If his kids are hurt it is his fault. It is obvious his priorities are out of whack!

      1. Maybe the Mayor has learned, Santa Ana voters see a candidate as a package deal.

Art, I thought the same thing about you years ago when your wife and family seemed to be missing from your campaign(s).

Each candidate and their families need to make their own choice on their presentation to the voters.

  12. …and people out there in this crazy world have the balz to want deny same sex marriage! You creeps and your affairs have NO CLUE what marriage is! I would throw down some hard cash to deny DIVORCE to anyone that is married! “Gotta protect the sanctity of marriage, the earth will crumble into dust, it’s God’s will..” blah, blah, blah! What sanctity? Protect nothing! You people that cheat are a disgrace to marriage. “Hey honey, go get me a beer-hurry up!”

    1. I agree. The biggest threat to marriage is not gays – it is Christians who dump their wives. I take my wedding vows seriously. Too bad so many politicians don’t.

  13. Who says his home life is falling apart? Just because pictures are missing? Maybe he and his wife have a very happy and functional relationship not being together? So divorce equals chaos and heartbreak and life being in shamble?!! You should write Hollywood movies. Those who judge judge only because their own lives suck ask they get pleasure out of other people’s “problems” Just saying…

    1. You need to go back and read Dr. Lomeli’s comment. He is a Benavides supporter and even he acknowledged that divorce appears to be pending.

Don’t worry about what I think. Benavides needs to worry about what the voters are going to think. This isn’t my problem – it is his.

Clearly the Council chose the wrong candidate. They should have stuck with Sal Tinajero. Too late now.

    1. Your defense of Benavides sounds a lot like his defense of Bustamante.

Benavides built his early political career on family values. So what does he stand for now?

Apparently Benavides is now thirsty for power. You can see where this mess is headed…

  14. The point is that divorce In a local campaign as a election issue is of not important for voters. Pulido’s political consultant’s tactics include as he puts it ” if you throw enough shit at your challenger some will stick”. Every past Pulido challenger has been a recipient of this strategy.

This strategy I am afraid is being implemented here.

    1. Santa Ana has more churches than any other Orange County city. Our city is dominated by Democrats but most of the voters supported Prop. 8.

This is a socially conservative city, like it ir not. Most voters were disgusted by Bustamante’s alleged debauchery and yet Benavides supported him. Now we find out that Benavides is apparently a train wreck too. Birds of a feather?

I can’t imagine that the voters will overlook this mess. Again, you guys should have stuck with Tinajero, now you’re stuck with Benavides. Good luck with that…

  15. Many church members are divorced, separated and single. Santa Ana churches do not excluded them as parishioners . Prop 8 compared to the latter is apples to oranges.

Bustamante’s alleged crimes against women compared to rumors about Venavides is apples to oranges.

The pulido camp strategy ……”if you throw enough shit some will stick” needs to be understood by those reading attacks against Venavides.

The strategy by definition says if you throw enough lies some will stick……….dishonest, so choose between a dishonest candidate and one with rumors of seperation from his wife.

  16. I think the good Doctor and the “Grown Up” are missing the point.

Two simple question at the fourm will settle this:

    1) Have you cheated on your wife?

    2) Have you ever had sex with another man?

Let the voters make thier decisions based on that.

Divorce is not a view into ones politics, but infidelity is certainly a glimpse into ones character!

As for leaving his EX-Wife and Abandoned Children alone, that’s up to the EGOMANIAC Councilman. Isn’t it ironic, that the KIDSWERKS director disgraces his own kids Mother and than bails on them!

    How’s that for character.

  17. OK these questions are for all the candidates? Let the investigations begin about possible infidelity of all candidates as this is now the litmus test for holding office according to you and the Pulido camp. Be careful what you wish for. Very few politicians can pass this test. As well as very few private citizens. It is why voters do not see it as important when selecting a candidate.

Especially coming from a camp who’s strategy is ” if you throw enough lies some will stick “

    1. You are entirely off base. What I write here is my work, and does not reflect Pulido’s campaign.

Go ahead ans dig up whatever you want. The fact remains that Benavides was a mistake. Your camp should have gone with Tinajero.

  18. No one denies the Pulido camp strategy ……” throw enough lies and some will stick”.

The Pulido camp then directs supporters to carry out the strategy in their own words and method as you say you do. The direct also advices to deny this strategy is a reflection of Pulido’s campaign.

  19. You know the strategy ..” throw enough lies and some will stick” , you are supporting Pulido and so are in the Pulido camp. Your are if not directly indirectly following the strategy..

This can occur without somebody telling someone what to do.. Convenient for denials.

    1. Please indicate exactly what lies are in my post. Do not ascribe my readers’ comments to me. And bear in mind the fact that YOU were the one who mentioned divorce.

  20. You mention infidelity, divorce and birds of feather relative to Bustamante. I mention divorce because you mentioned it. Where is your proof of infidelity, divorce and crimes against women.?

  21. Editor,

You state “Lastly, this post got about 20 times as many hits as our post about the new parks in Santa Ana. People do care about these matters and I suspect that the Benavides campaign is already finished.”

What nonsense! The reason for so many hits is the same exact reason TMZ gets so many hits. People love drama and they especially love reading about other people’s dirt. You’re basically becoming the TMZ of life in Santa Ana. Shame on you! The hits aren’t based on how people will vote, it’s simply a window into our culture.

Your arrogance and judgement passing will come back to bite you in the end. But whether or not that happens, I look forward to November when Benavides is elected the new mayor of Santa Ana. That’s gonna sting for you.

But I’m guessing you’ll become a Benavides supporter within days of his victory. You have a well established habit of hating on the mayor and then turning around and kissing his posterior later on. I’d love for you to repost the story you posted a few years back about Pulido being somehow linked to some murderous plots in Mexico or something like that. I thought it was awful that you wrote such nonsense back then! You haven’t changed. I’m not a Pulido hater at all, I actually think he’s a good guy. But the city needs fresh new leadership, and Benavides would be great. The voters will decide about his family issues.

Mr. Editor, I suggest you try taking the high road sometime. It’s hard to hang out in the gutter without getting dirty yourself.

    Thank you,
    Curious

    1. Again, as I asked Dr. Lomeli, tell me what in my post was inaccurate. And please don’t ascribe my readers’s comments to me.

  22. I never said it was necessarily inaccurate. It’s just a bottom feeder thoughtless blogger post who gets a rush out of # of hits.

Why no response to any of my thoughts though???

    1. What part was bottom-feeder? My point was that Benavides no longer mentions his wife and kids, or that he is even married, on any if his websites. He did when he first ran for office. I provided proof.

I believe you have an issue with my readers’ comments. Take that up with them.

  23. in·sin·u·a·tion   [in-sin-yoo-ey-shuhn] Show IPA

    3.

A city insider told me that Benavides conducted a poll before announcing his campaign for Mayor.  One of the questions posed to voters was would they support a mayoral candidate who had cheated on his wife.  Why would he include that question in his poll?

  24. Where are your facts , your comments are insinuations. ONE CAN NOT EXPLAIN AWAY A RUMOR OR INSINUATION. ONE CAN IGNORE THEM AND DENY THE RUMOR OR INSINUATION. This is easy enough to do.

For other uses, see Fact (disambiguation).

A fact (derived from the Latin factum, see below) is something that has really occurred or is actually the case. The usual test for a statement of fact is verifiability, that is whether it can be proven to correspond to experience. Standard reference works are often used to check facts. Scientific facts are verified by repeatable experiments.

  25. I would love to hear your response to Curious’s comments

“But I’m guessing you’ll become a Benavides supporter within days of his victory. You have a well established habit of hating on the mayor and then turning around and kissing his posterior later on. I’d love for you to repost the story you posted a few years back about Pulido being somehow linked to some murderous plots in Mexico or something like that. I thought it was awful that you wrote such nonsense back then! You haven’t changed.”

    1. I have never supported Benavides and I never will.

Pulido came around over the past few years. Benavides is now the one who is allied with the Usual Suspects, not Pulido.

  26. It’s nice to see the Liberal OC CENSORING comments again.

In response to his inflamatory blog post calling the Mayor of Santa Ana Claudia’s “BITCH”, I asked Dan what he though of the rumors of Davids extramarital affair.

Of course that my comment will never see the light of day.

But if you called Beth Krom, Larrys “Bitch” the Northwood Night Stalker would be all over it.

I just may bring up Dan’s post at the debate and ask David, what he thinks of his most ardent supportter from Irvine calling the mayor and his fellow councilperson a BITCH.

Right after I ask him about his sexuality and promiscuity. Certainly, Dan is interested in this as his close colluegue if infected with HIV, so he would certainly hope Mr. Benavides was responsible.

  27. In response to his inflamatory blog post calling the Mayor of Santa Ana Claudia’s “BITCH”, I asked Dan what he though of the rumors of Davids extramarital affair.

What intelligent meaningful response does one expect in regards to a rumor????

A rumor or rumour (spelling differs between American and British English) is often viewed as “an unverified account or explanation of events circulating from person to person and pertaining to an object, event, or issue in public concern” (33)[1] However, a review of the research on rumor conducted by Pendleton in 1998 found that research across sociology, psychology, and communication studies had widely varying definitions of rumor.[2]

Thus, rumor is a concept that lacks a particular definition in the social sciences. But most theories agree that rumor involves some kind of a statement whose veracity is not quickly or ever confirmed. In addition, some scholars have identified rumor as a subset of propaganda, the latter another notoriously difficult concept to define. A pioneer of propaganda studies, Harold Lasswell defined propaganda in 1927 as referring “solely to the control of opinion by significant symbols, or, to speak more concretely and less accurately, by stories, rumors, reports, pictures, and other forms of social communication” (1927:9).[3]

Rumors are also often discussed with regard to “misinformation” and “disinformation” (the former often seen as simply false and the latter seen as deliberately false, though usually from a government source given to the media or a foreign government).[4] Rumors thus have often been viewed as particular forms of other communication concepts.

    1. You’re obviously a big fan of Benavides. Why don’t you ask him what the deal is and let us know? That is how you can resolve the rumors.

    2. You asked Dan what he thought? Who gives a sh*t what he thinks? Dan dismissed the Bustamante rumors until Carlos was arrested. Now he is screaming that others ignored the signs.

Hey editor! Didn’t Dan give Carlos money when you ran against him?

  28. Fan has nothing to do with it. Being responsible and guarding your integrity should be why one should not deal in rumors.

Read the definition above again. You posted you asked him directly on the issue of infidelity, you wrote he denied this ever happening. HE ANSWERED THE RUMOR. Would I asking him responding change your attacks based on rumors? No…………………because the agenda is to damage using rumors as the tool – strategy………..” throw enough lies and some will stick”.

    1. Did you mean fan or flan? Or something else?

What I was talking about was not the one instance of alleged infidelity but rather the rumors of additional such instances and a pending divorce.

Please ask him what is up and let us know. That way you can put this all to bed and focus on his campaign.

BTW, is it true he is working with Charles Hart? Does Eric Alderete know this?

  29. He answered your infidelity question , you have ignored his answer. Answering other rumors will get same results because answers get in the way of the strategy…”” throw enough lies and some will stick”.

  30. We live in a hypothetical universe Los Dos Arts! Rumors may become reality. Disinformation might be prediction and everybody needs suggestion to guide them. All hail Santa Ana Propaganda Minister, and the Minister of Disinformation. soothsayers.

    1. Good point Mateo. Would Santa Ana really be better off were I to shut down this blog? Believe me, that is what the Benavides crowd really wants.

In the old days politicians could get away with fooling us. Now they can’t. And they don’t like it one bit.

  31. Editor says:
    August 23, 2012 at 2:54 pm
    Good point Mateo.

What is your point Mateo. What point do you think Mateo made.

  32. Dr. Lomeli,

Who do you plan on voting for?

What are the concerns you have for your household and neighbors that make you wish for a change so badly?

I am especially eagar to learn more about your thoughts on integrity. Because, frankly, i think that is the point of the original post. If there are issues in a marriage, voters and citizens hould look beyond that. but as long talked about in the community, David has had a wandering eye (to put it kindly) and if a man is willing to cheat on his wife, with whom (in Benavides case) he as taken a vow before GOD himself, and he breaks that, causing the destruction of his family, leaving the children Fatherless and alone, like those he claims to have moved to Santa Ana to “save”, what does that say about integrity.

Benavide’s needs to come clean. Just like John Edwards, Bill Clinton, Newt Gingrich and coutless others before him.

If he can not manage a marriage, how can he manage a city with significant challenges like Santa Ana.

Voters can’t pack up and move to Irvine and sue for child support.

The Bastards left behind this time will be the people of Santa Ana.

That’s what I am arguing for!

  33. Mateo is saying the universe is unexplainable therefore a fortune teller can only by seeing in the future for example a rumor can be reality.

He then calls you the Santa Ana propaganda minister and the minster of disinformation.

How in the world do you interpret this into ” that these topics are worthy of discussion” and that you are responsible through pieces like this one responsible for politicians not fooling us.

How can you do this with Mateo’s label of you as Santa Ana’s propaganda minister and the minister of disinformation?

    1. He referred to both of us but labelled me as the former and you as the latter.

All you are doing is obfuscating. Talk to Benavides, demand he come clean and let us know what the deal is.

    1. We will have to wait for Mateo to chime in.

BTW, you don’t live in Santa Ana and can’t vote here. Why don’t you ask the Benavides cult to send someone to comment here who will actually be able to vote here in November?

  34. Carpetbagger,

This is how ridiculous those like you have become due to desperation.

    Wandering eye = infidelity
    Divorced male = fatherless children
A divorce with children = bastard children

You must be the chairman heading the strategy……..”throw enough lies and some will stick”.

  35. Most of Pulido’s financial and political supporters are out of towners. They don’t vote in Santa Ana nor chime in on your blog but have made a lot of decisions in Santa Ana for you.

I don’t have the ability to make decisions for you, but have the ability to state my opinion in your blog. Thanks for giving me the opportunity.

    1. You’re welcome. I respect you and am saddened that once again you have sided with an inept candidate.

If Tinajero were running instead of Benavides I could buy this revolution.

  36. Dr. lomeli-

Perhaps I was over eagar to make my point and unfairly targeted you.

let’s dicuss something germain to all of us:

The upcoming 2013 Ecudorian General Election, Now you may be unfamiliar with the canidates and the issues, but it is as relevant as a Long Beach resident, An Orange resident and certainly an Irvine resident contributing to the civic business in Santa Ana.

Maybe we can get the OC Registers Andrew Galvin involved before he loses his job, he can prove who lives there based on the laundry detergant!

So Dr. Lomeli: You go first, who do you like and why?

This is as germain as Santa Ana to you guys.

My Pick: Guillermo Lasso, but thats just cause he has a cool name.

maybe you with your DDS degree can tell all of the Ecudorans who THEY should have as a leader!

  37. Carpetbagger,

My point has been about a strategy of ” throw enough lies and some will stick ” by the incumbent mayor’s campaign against challengers they fear .

I do not name call nor spread rumors. I am not a Liberal.

I do have a bussiness in Santa Ana for over 20 years. Small businesses contribute over 75% of taxes that support the services you enjoy as a resident of the city. Most of the city’s small business owners and basically all of the big business owners live out side the city but are large stakeholders due to their financial investment in the city.

So your statement of GO HOME to business owners that have an interest in the politics relative to our investments is ignorant at best.

Without these stakeholders you would have no funding for the services you enjoy.

    1. Dr. Lomeli,

Let me be clear. I am not writing anything on behalf of anyone. I write what I find compelling. For you to keep insinuating that I am at the back and call of Pulido’s campaign is a lie and I am going to ask you to stop doing that.

You may take issue with my opinion but please do not question my integrity.

  38. If nothing else your blog is a vehicle for your readers to spew this strategy. You not directly involved is irrelevant to my point as your readers can and are involved directly with this strategy.

I can continue with my point with your exclusion.

  39. You may not always like what Mr. Pedroza writes…BUT…LOTS of people are reading him and he no one should ever question his movtives. Art walks the walk…not just talk the talk…as do so many in our ciudad.

  40. I also think that the Mr. Lomeli has a right to voice his opinion even if he has a horse property in Orange Park Acres. He still has rights.

  41. Dr. Lomeli,

    You just got EXPOSED.

We value your business and what little it does.

But, you are way off base dipping into civic elections.

Through 70+ comments NO ONE has discounted the notion that David Benavides CHEATED on his wife, she divorced him and he is children are now without a Father.

DAVID IS READING THIS, IT HAS BEEN SENT TO HIM, yet he refuses to address this?

What should I do? How shall I respond? Will it go away?

Well, Davie, stand up and be responsible for once. Address the allegations HEAD ON. Tell the TRUTH!

David appears to be both a LIAR and a COWARD. just what we DON’T need in Santa Ana.

His supporters will run like rats from a sinking ship when this breaks.

  42. Carpetbagger says

“both a LIAR and a COWARD” and “70+ comments NO ONE has discounted the notion”

What kind of lying name is CARPERGAGGER?

Seems to me that the Doctor has discounted the BS comments.

  43. “70+ comments NO ONE has discounted the notion”

“both a LIAR and a COWARD” says Carpetbagger.

Anyone who hides behind a phony name to spread BS rumors, is not worthy of an answer.

It is not hard to tell who are the liars are, they are the ones screaming for answers to pointless and unanswerable questions.

  44. Cook.

I have always respected you, but you are wrong here.

Look at what exposure got the victimes of Bustamonte.

Today, more people are talking about Daly.

Just because the OC Register and LA Times are in the pockets of the canidates doesn’t mean we can’t speak out.

The only ones speaking are the crazy anonymous folks, Where is David on this. He clearly is reading this.

To pull a weak card and blame anonymous posters, doesn’t work anymore. This is the INTERNET, not the Newspaper. Let Benavides defend HIMSELF.

This is not exclusive to NSA, The LOC calls the mayor “Claudia’s BITCH”, The OJB uses imflamatory language to incite riots in Anaheim.

CHEATING ON YOUR WIFE AND ABANDONING YOUR KIDS WHILE WORKING AS THE LEADER OF KIDSWERKS IS NOT POINTLESS:

It’s the point Robin. That’s the point.

  45. Carpet bragger,

The only one exposed here is you. You are ignorant at best on business contributions to city services and the business political relationships with city governments. Make your argument to the various chambers of commerce in the city……………..I believe you got past the benefit of the doubt that your problem is ignorance. It is something more serious I believe.

Through 70+ comments NO ONE has discounted the notion that David Benavides CHEATED on his wife, she divorced him and he is children are now without a Father.

    no·tion    (nshn) KEY

    NOUN:
    A belief or opinion.

    ETYMOLOGY:
Middle English nocioun, concept, from Latin nti, ntin-, from ntus, known, past participle of nscere, to get to know; see gn- in Indo-European roots

Why would anyone waste time explaining away a “notion”.

Children from a divorce have fathers. A divorce does not eliminate a father……..incredible logic you have………” throw enough lies and some will stick”

You are intertaining. By this time no one takes you serious.
