Yesterday afternoon, the ATF Orange County Violent Crime Task Force, which includes Fullerton Police Department detectives, conducted a follow-up investigation on a suspected “bank jugging” incident that occurred in the City of Fullerton in December of 2024.
Detectives identified, located, and arrested three male adults in connection with this case. All three suspects, who reside in Los Angeles County, were booked at the Fullerton City Jail on charges that include conspiracy and burglary.
“Bank jugging” is a form of robbery where suspects target individuals who withdraw large sums of money from inside a bank or an ATM. The suspects follow the victim to their next location, waiting for an opportunity to steal the cash. This theft can occur through the burglary of a vehicle where cash is left inside or by directly assaulting the victim to take the cash.
FPD would like to remind you to be aware of your surroundings:
- If you notice someone watching you, trust your instincts and take precautions.
- Beware of your surroundings.
- Lock your car doors when you get into your vehicle.
- Do not leave leave cash or valuables inside your vehicle.
- If you believe you are being followed from a financial institution for any length of time, call 911 or drive to the nearest police station.
- If you see something, say something.
