Shooting at 719 E. First St. in Santa Ana

The bloody start to Santa Ana’s New Year continued on Friday, Jan. 20, with two more shootings.

At 3 p.m. a witness reported seeing a male pedestrian talking with a passenger in a vehicle that was stopped at around 719 East First Street, in Santa Ana. Then the pedestrian pulled out a handgun and he fired at the vehicle as it took off. The vehicle was damaged by the gunshot.

Shooting at 1300 Magnolia in Santa Ana

Later on Friday night, at about 9 p.m., SAPD police officers were sent to a local hospital to contact a victim that was shot to the upper torso and was in critical condition.

The victim was walking in the area of 1300 South Magnolia when he was shot and a suspect(s) was seen running away, according to SAPD Case Number 17-019123.

Both of these shootings happened in Santa Ana’s Ward 2, which is represented by Councilwoman Michele Martinez.
