On 06/15/2023, at approximately 8:02 p.m., Tustin Police Officers responded to a traffic collision at the intersection of Newport Ave and Mitchell Ave.

The traffic collision resulted in major injuries to involved parties and the Traffic Unit arrived to investigate the collision.

Northbound Newport Avenue was closed from McFadden Avenue to Nisson Road during the investigation.

  1. If I am not mistaken, this resulted in a fatality of a pedestrian walking at this intersection (young woman). A candlelight memorial was seen the day after.
