The Irvine Police Department responded to reports of people trying to break into cars in a parking structure at the 3300 block of Michelson on Friday morning.

When police officers attempted to stop the involved vehicle, the driver fled. The vehicle crashed near Dyer and the 55 Freeway.

Three people ran from the car, and Enrique Camacho, 25, of Anaheim, was arrested by Tustin police officers who happened to be nearby. The police officers determined that Camacho had attempted to steal a vehicle in the parking structure.

Fabiola Mejia, 33, of Anaheim, who remained with the vehicle, was also arrested. The car had license plates belonging to another vehicle and was reported as stolen.

Both people were booked at Orange County Jail on multiple charges, and officers are working on identifying the two outstanding people.

The Irvine Police Department thanks the Tustin Police Department for their partnership. They also appreciate the vital information a witness provided to them.
