A police pursuit that began in Los Angeles County ended in Anaheim this afternoon.

The pursuit began in the Lakewood area as L.A. County Sheriff’s deputies began to pursue a driver. The pursuit continued into Orange County.

At about 12:22 p.m., the suspect headed through a parking lot in Garden Grove in order to cut through traffic and he then continued onto surface streets in Anaheim.

But that tactic backfired on the suspect when he stopped in another parking lot and ended up getting boxed in by the Sheriff’s Department vehicles as deputies drew their weapons.

The driver and two passengers were taken into custody.

The deputies originally thought that the driver was under the influence, but we still do not know exactly what triggered the police pursuit.
