Dog dies at a Santa Ana house fire

Santa Ana firefighters were busy this weekend as they battled a deadly residential fire and a commercial fire at a storage unit complex.

The residential fire broke out on Sunday night at the 5300 block of West 1st Street, according to the OCFA.

Firefighters saved the burning house as they kept the flames from spreading from a structure in the backyard on Sunday evening. Unfortunately, a dog was found deceased in the structure but no human lives were lost. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

On Saturday night OCFA firefighters saved countless storage units at a commercial fire in Santa Ana.

Forcing entry quickly allowed the firefighters to stop the fire from spreading throughout the building.
