A man was seriously injured Saturday evening, Sept. 23, when he was struck by a car that drove onto a sidewalk following a two-vehicle collision, according to the O.C. Register.

The victim was walking on the sidewalk at the 500 block of North Main St. when two cars collided, at about 8:50 p.m. One of the vehicles injured the victim when it went onto the sidewalk, after the collision.

The victim was taken to a local hospital.

As is too often the case in Santa Ana the driver of the vehicle that hit the man sped off from the scene. The other car remained at the scene, according to the SAPD.

The vehicle that hit the man drove off, while the other car remained at the scene, Aceves said.

Fortunately the SAPD caught the hit and run driver about thirty minutes later.
