During a recent patrol check of a hotel parking lot, a police officer thought he might be onto something when he observed numerous individuals scurry into the hotel as he drove by a stopped vehicle, according to the Tustin Police Department.
Recognizing there may be a mystery to be solved, the officer looked for clues and determined the vehicle was owned by a local probationer.
The officer patiently waited for the suspects to return to the vehicle and commenced an investigation…With the assistance from an Orange County Sheriff’s Department, CA K9, officers on scene searched two vehicles and located approximately 1,025 grams of DMT, 402 grams of methamphetamine, 59 grams of heroin, 45 grams of cocaine, 5 grams of suspected PCP, and 1,920 M-30 pills (schedule II narcotic). The total estimated cash value is estimated at nearly $62,000.
Further searching revealed drug paraphernalia, scales, cell phones, large quantities of cash, and other evidence of drug sales. As if that wasn’t enough, the detained subjects were in possession of tools to break into structures and vehicles as well as stolen license plates.
The probationer and his pal were subsequently booked at Orange County Jail for a plethora of felony charges while the overwhelming quantity of dangerous drugs were taken off of city streets and booked as evidence.
