Advisory: Santa Ana Homicide- Monday, March 12, 2012, at approximately 6:33 P.M 215 E. 15th St

Santa Ana Homicide, Victim: Mario Carlos Hernandez (20) Santa Ana

On Monday, March 12, 2012, at approximately 6:33 P.M., patrol officers responded to the apartment complex located at 215 E. 15th St. on a call involving shots fired and a wounded male adult. Upon arrival, officers found a 20-year-old male suffering from gunshot wounds to the upper body.

The Santa Ana Fire Department Paramedics responded to the scene and transported the victim to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

Based on initial facts of the investigation the incident is believed to be gang related. The Santa Ana Police Department Gang Detail responded for the investigation. At this time Gang Homicide Unit detectives are still following-up leads in an attempt to get the suspect, or suspects, in custody.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the S.A.P.D. Gang Unit at (714) 245-8648. This case qualifies for the reward program.

The Santa Ana Police Department is offering monetary rewards for information leading to the arrest of gang homicide or felony gang assault suspects. Anyone with information about any gang homicide or felony gang assault suspects may call (714) 245-8648.

    1. The gangs thrive on the drug trade. Sometimes that leads to these shootings. We have a great police department. I am sure they are doing all they can to curb these activities.

  1. Part of the unforeseen circumstances of tearing down a dozen single family homes to build 100 unit big box storage units for ultra low income peoples.

    It is too bad that the pattern of the 80’s that gave Santa Ana the big box bight of low income / sec 8 housing that breeds this kind of human grief is being replayed with more big box future slums in the Lacy Garfield areas.

  4. Well He is my uncle…I miss him very much. He was a very kind guy. He would never cuss in someones home or to other people. It just gets me angry on qhy they did this
