The male walked away when officers tried to speak with him. However, the male then grabbed several loose rocks from the roadway and launched a rock (shown in photo) toward the two officers on scene. Luckily, the officers were not struck by the rock.

In the process of taking the male into custody, several officers received minor injuries, to include a bite to the lower extremities and skin scrapes.

The male, a 23-year-old Parolee, was arrested for Assault on a Peace Officer, Battery on a Peace Officer, Resisting a Peace Officer with Violence, and violation of his Parole.

The suspect was booked at the Orange County Jail.
