Orange County Old Courthouse

HUGH NGUYEN, CLERK-RECORDER

NEWS RELEASE, For Immediate Release

Positive Response Leads to More Saturday Hours

Responding to customer requests for more weekend hours, the Orange County Clerk-Recorder Department will open on Saturday, July 27, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at offices in Santa Ana, Fullerton and Laguna Hills.

Department offices at the Old County Courthouse in Santa Ana, as well as branch offices in Laguna Hills and Fullerton, will be open to provide greater convenience for customers unable to conduct business during regular weekday hours. As with the department’s two highly popular Saturday openings in June, parking will be free at all locations.

“We’re listening to what our customers tell us they want,” Clerk-Recorder Hugh Nguyen said. “We’ll continue to find ways to help make things easier for them.”

The Clerk-Recorder Department’s regular hours are 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday at the main offices in Santa Ana, and from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the branch offices.

Due to limited space, reservations are requested for marriage licenses and civil marriage ceremonies. To save time, applications can be completed in advance online at www.ocrecorder.com. As an added convenience, passport photos are available on the spot for $15. For more information on marriage and passport services, please call (714) 834-2588.

The department provides a variety of public services, including recording documents relating to real property transactions; maintaining and issuing copies of birth, death and marriage certificates; issuing marriage licenses and performing civil wedding ceremonies. The department additionally files Fictitious Business Names and Notary Public oaths and bonds, as well as oversees the Orange County Archives.
