The State of California has released new Santa Ana Unified School District (SAUSD) graduation and dropout rates, for the year 2008-2009.  You can click here to see the dropout rates.  Click here to see the graduation rates.

I read through the reports.  Here are a few numbers that jumped off the page:

  • The 4-year dropout rate at Valley High School is 20.6%
  • Only 379 out of 583 Grade 12 students at Valley High School graduated
  • The 4-year dropout rate at Century High School is 20.2%
  • Only 397 out of 530 Grade 12 students at Century High School graduated
  • The 4-year dropout rate at Community Day Intermediate and High is 65.7%
  • The 4-year dropout rate at Century High School is 18.8%
  • Only 130 out of 242 Grade 12 students at Cesar Chavez High School graduated
  • The Orange County 4-year dropout rate is 14.3%
