BOXING COACH TO BE ARRAIGNED FOR MOLESTING TWO 14-YEAR-OLD BOYS IN HIS SANTA ANA HOME

SANTA ANA – A boxing coach will be arraigned today for sexually assaulting two 14-year-old boys, whom he met through a Santa Ana boxing club. Anthony Serrano, 45, Santa Ana, is charged with four felony counts of lewd acts on a child and faces a maximum sentence of five years in state prison if convicted. The People will be requesting Serrano be held on $200,000 bail at his arraignment today, Tuesday, July 17, 2012, in Department CJ-1, Central Jail, Santa Ana. The time is to be determined.

At the time of the crimes, Serrano is accused of working as a boxing coach at Santa Ana Boxing Club. The defendant is accused of meeting both of his victims through the boxing club.

Between May and October 2006, the defendant is accused of sexually assaulting John Doe #1 beginning when the victim was 14 years old. The defendant is accused of committing lewd acts against John Doe #1 on more than one occasion in Serrano’s home.

John Doe #1 reported the sexual assault in 2008, but the case was not filed at that time due to insufficient corroboration.

Between May 2011 and April 2012, Serrano is accused of sexually assaulting John Doe #2 beginning when the victim was 14-years-old. The defendant is accused of committing lewd acts against John Doe #2 on more than one occasion in Serrano’s home.

John Doe #2 reported the sexual abuse to the Santa Ana Police Department (SAPD), who investigated this case, on July 15, 2012.

If convicted, Serrano’s lifetime sex offender registration would bar him from entering County recreational areas and City parks which have passed the Sex Offender Ordinance. 1. Will Orange County Youth Commission Chair and Ward 3 council candidate Charles Hart tell the voters about his association with Serrano and about his knowledge of Serrano’s activities?

Inquiring minds want to know Charlie!

  2. Dear Hart Attack,
Why do you spin these lies about Charles Hart? What proof do you have? Maybe you don’t intend to come across as mean spirited but lots of kids have been helped by Rosie Avila and this organization. Lots! Art, I think you should invite Mr. Hart to tell his side of the story. To allow these comments from Hart attack to be published without hearing the other side is very, very unfair. Charles Hart is a good man who would never, ever, allow a terrible person like Anthony Serrano work in his organization if he knew about it. Please Mr. Art, get both sides of the story. We have known you to be a fair person and always presenting both sides of a story.

    1. I will see what I can do. But remember that I spoke to the mother of one of the boys who was molested. She told me she met with Hart and that he rebuffed her. I advised her to go to the police.

  3. Dear Mr. Pedroza,
I know Charles Hart to be a good Republican and Tea Party Patriot and he would NEVER help a child molester. I think as a journalist you owe it to “Hart Attack” and other readers to write a new post on this issue and set the record straight regarding Charles Hart and post a retraction when it’s found to not be true. Please allow Mr. Hart to tell his side of the story on your blog or in one of your radio interviews. You have always been fair in the past and I hope you will be now as well.Sholom.

    1. The mother I spoke to did not say he helped a molester. She said specifically that her concerns were disregarded. I advised her to go to the police and a boxing coach was then arrested, indicating that her concerns were valid. Why Hart gave her the brush off is a good question. He is welcome to come here and let us know what he was thinking.

    2. thats why HART is being indicted.. child endangerment, conspiracy, court mandated to report, fail to do so, embezzlement and a LITTANY of other charges
