On Saturday night, a man left Hoag Hospital in Irvine and started a fire in the parking lot, which burned three portable restrooms, two hand wash stations, and a tree.

On-site security detained the suspect until officers arrived.

The Orange County Fire Authority (OCFA) extinguished the fire. OCFA Arson investigators assisted, and the man was arrested, and booked for arson.

This call is an excellent example of our collaborative relationship with our security partners and the OCFA.
