On Wednesday, Jennifer Mayerly Gonzalez, 33, of Los Angeles, decided to test the security system at Spectrum Sephora, according to the Irvine Police Department.

Gonzalez stole over $900 in items and hit the road. The IPD’s Spectrum Center officers caught up to her near El Toro and the 5-Freeway, as she onstesibly was trying to return to L.A., and arrested her.

Gonzalez was booked at the Orange County Jail on multiple charges, including theft with a prior, receiving stolen property, possessing burglary tools, and identity theft. Since the IPD is a full-service department, they also helped her take care of an outstanding receiving stolen property warrant, adding to her misery.

The IPD would like to remind those who live outside of Irvine that if they have sticky fingers, Irvine is the absolute last place to travel to commit a crime, particularly at the Spectrum Center. Here’s the deal: you will get caught and arrested and likely end up on the IPD’s social media. You will not however be an influencer – instead you will be a criminal and face serious charges.
