Santa Ana, CA – The Orange County Probation Department, in accordance with State, County, and Juvenile Court COVID-19 safety precautions, will resume in person visiting at Orange County Juvenile Hall, Youth Leadership Academy and Youth Guidance Center on May 31, 2021.
The Probation Department temporarily suspended visiting in March 2020 based on recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and in consideration of the Probation Department’s COVID-19 prevention efforts. Since that time visitation has occurred via telephone and virtual conferencing.
The Probation Department recognizes the importance of in-person contact to our youth and their families and look forward to resuming these visits in a manner that will prioritize the safety of our staff, the youth and their families.
The visitation plan is designed to mitigate risks to visitors, youth, and staff, while providing a safe and healthy environment. All visitors must wear a mask, maintain six-feet of social distancing and will have access to hand sanitizer. In line with current COVID-19 safety precautions, each visitor will be screened via questionnaire and temperature check. The families are being informed of the new rules regarding visitation prior to the resumption of in-person
visiting.
The Orange County Probation Department values visitation as an essential part of the rehabilitation of the youth under our supervision and will continue to reevaluate visitation protocols to ensure continued compliance with State, County, and Juvenile Court COVID-19 safety precautions.
