Orange County Health Care Agency Free 2009 H1N1 Influenza Vaccination Clinic

HCA has expanded the appointment only clinic at its 17th Street facility in Santa Ana to include any Orange County residents (no target group restrictions) who wish to be vaccinated and do not have access to 2009 H1N1 vaccinations through their medical providers. Reminder, children aged 6 months-9 years need two doses of 2009 H1N1 influenza vaccine at least 28 days apart.

Seasonal Influenza Vaccinations Now Available from the Health Care Agency

HCA Seasonal Influenza Vaccination Clinic schedule:

Monday through Saturday 9:00am-4:00pm, No clinic on Sundays
Closed for lunch 11:45am-12:45pm
No vaccination clinics Thursday through Saturday, 12/24/09-12/26/09
No appointment necessary

Seasonal influenza vaccinations are offered free of charge to residents of Orange County in the following priority groups, no appointment necessary (walk-in clinic):

1.People 50 years of age and older

2.All children 2 through 18 years of age, in particular:
• Children or adolescents receiving long-term aspirin therapy
• Children with chronic medical conditions*

3.Women who are pregnant or will be pregnant during flu season

4.Adults (over 18 years) of any age with chronic medical conditions*

5.Anyone over the age of 2 years living with or caring for people at high risk for complications from flu, including:
• Health care personnel
• People who live with or care for children under 5 years (in particular infants less than 6 months of age) or adults over 50 years
• People with medical conditions that place them at risk for complications of flu

(No vaccine formulation is available in HCA vaccination clinics for children under the age of 2 years or children aged 24-35 months who are not healthy)

*Chronic medical conditions include but are not limited to:

•Chronic diseases of the heart (except hypertension), lungs (including asthma), kidney, liver, or blood; diabetes or other metabolic disorders

•Seizures disorders, spinal cord injuries, or other neuromuscular/neurologic disorders; cognitive disorders

•Weakened immune system due to disease or medication (such as people with HIV/AIDS, or undergoing cancer treatment)
