San Clemente, Ca. (May 30, 2023): At 9:50 p.m. on Friday, May 26, 2023, Orange County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to the San Clemente Pier regarding a large group of possible juveniles involved in an assault on Unites States Marines.

On arrival, deputies found two male United States Marines injured from the assault.  The Orange County Fire Authority rendered medical aid; however, the Marines declined to be medically transported to the hospital. During the investigation, a third male United States Marine was discovered to have been assaulted during the incident. 

On May 30, Orange County Sheriff’s Investigators identified and arrested four male juveniles and one female juvenile believed to be involved in the incident.  They were booked into the Orange County Juvenile Hall on suspicion of violating CPC 245(a)(1) – assault with a deadly weapon (non-firearm). 

Due to the suspects being juveniles, no further information will be released regarding them at this time.  Also, due to the nature of the incident and the large number of individuals involved, the investigation is ongoing.
