SUV crashed into a fence in Garden Grove

OCFA fire crews responded to two significant vehicle accidents in Garden Grove last Friday, requiring specialized rescue operations—on top of handling numerous other calls throughout the day.

Using the Jaws of Life, the firefighters showcased the life-saving skills they regularly train on to safely extricate victims trapped in their vehicles.

In one accident a white SUV crashed into a chain-link fence at a public school. The top metal pole of that fence ended up piercing the SUV’s front window.

In the other incident a white pick-up truck ended up on its side in a street in a light industrial area.

Each incident involved one victim who was quickly extricated, treated, and transported to the hospital for further care.
