On Wednesday morning, an Irvine police officer was patrolling the Great Park due to increased copper theft. She stopped a suspicious truck with three people inside.

The driver had a felony warrant for receiving stolen property and several misdemeanor warrants for narcotics, burglary, and theft. The female passenger had a felony warrant and multiple misdemeanor warrants for theft. The third passenger had narcotic paraphernalia and tools used for stripping and stealing copper.

Officers found a backpack inside the truck that contained copper wire and lithium batteries.

The trio was arrested and booked at Orange County Jail for their warrants and various charges.

  1. They sure sound like model citizens. All 3 are thieves who have felony records. Makes me wonder why they were ever let out to begin with.
