DUI driver arrested in Irvine after driving the wrong way on punctured tires

Just after midnight, the Irvine Police Department received reports of a driver driving the wrong way on the vehicle’s wheels near Culver Dr. and Main St., with sparks flying from the car.

Thankfully, one of the Irvine patrol officers quickly found the driver, who failed to stop when he tried to pull the car over.

The officer pursued the vehicle, and the driver continued to drive on the vehicle’s wheels with sparks flying as the wheels scraped on the asphalt.

The driver finally stopped near Daimler Street and Deere Ave., where Brandon Lee, 25, of San Jose, was arrested for felony evading and Driving Under the Influence (DUI).

We are very grateful that nobody was injured in this dangerous incident. The Irvine Police Department is committed to keeping DUI drivers off our roads, and we appreciate the witnesses who called to report the driver.
