Finally had a chance to see last week’s City Council meeting. Wow, what a meeting! Long discussion about the ICE contract and city jobs that may be lost and bunch of other stuff. Unfortunately, Councilmembers Sal Tinajero, Vincente Sarmiento and David Benavides did not vote for continuing the ICE contract as Councilman Jose Solorio wanted.

So that means that the city will have $8-$9 million dollars less for the general fund every year now and could lose 20 to 30 part time and full time city jobs at the jail.

One big shocker was that Councilman Tinajero recommended a big sales tax increase on local businesses and residents to help make up for the general fund losses. Over $20 million a year in new sales taxes on local shoppers. What a loser that would be!!! That would punish local people and hurts poor people the most. Don’t push your problem onto local residents, cut the budget or fix problems on your own!!!

Can’t wait until Councilmembers Sal Tinajero, Vincente Sarmiento and David Benavides are termed out. 2018 can’t come quick enough!

  1. Stupid is as stupid does. This is how people think who could care less about anybody but their own personal agenda. They’ve already thrown the people under the bus in losing the ICE contact. Now they want to run over them? And these people have the the nerve, the audacity to complain about an criticize Donald Trump? Unbelievable!

  2. It very easy to spend other peoples money. Just raise the sales tax, add it the property tax or include it as an assessment. These are the names politicians use as a result of poor fiscal policies. How does one replace 8 to 9 million dollars from the general fund Councilman Sal Tinerjero has the answer… “One big shocker was that Councilman Tinajero recommended a big sales tax increase on local businesses and residents to help make up for the general fund losses. Over $20 million a year in new sales taxes on local shoppers.” It looks like Councilman Sal Tinejero has never owned a business (Voice of OC July 13, 2015 paints him as a consultant), Is he trying to help the City of Santa Ana or ruin it? A decision about the ICE Contract should have never been made without a verified plan or an additional source of income to replace what will now be missing in the general budget.

  3. THANKS TO THE AGITATORS AND RADICAL GROUPS WHO HAVE MANIPULATED THE CITY COUNCIL. I SAY FOLLOW THE MONEY SOMEONE OR TWO ARE GETTING KICK BACKS FROM THESES GROUPS. THE DECISIONS THAT ARE BEING MADE IS HURT THE CITY NOT HELPING. WE NEED AN AUDIT OR AN INDEPENDENT INVESTIGATION OF THE CITY COUNCIL MEMBERS ESPECIALLY MR. T AND HIS SIDEKICKS.

  4. I urge everybody who lives there not to shop or buy anything in Santa Ana.

Make this p*nche p*to feel the pain.

SAL NOW WHATS UR PLAN TO RESOLVE THE ISSUE YOU HAVE CAUSED. YOU AND YOUR F*CKEN CRONIES, YOU BIG FAT LITTLE BROWN SH*T!!!

  5. So, basically the city council chose to be a sanctuary city to hide it’s criminals? And they gave up the ICE contract to hide it’s criminals? I have yet to hear any non criminals being deported. These are the same criminals who continue to terrorize the citizens? And now you want the citizens to pay an increase in sales tax?

Sick and tired of thugs running this city. Santa Ana is a toilet bowl that keeps getting dirtier by the minute.
