This past Friday, police officers conducted a proactive car stop on a Dodge Hellcat with out-of-state license plates for multiple vehicle code violations, in the area of Edwards St. and Trask Ave., according to the Westminster Police Department.
Upon contacting the occupants it was determined one of the subjects was on Riverside County probation for firearm related charges. It was later determined the driver of the vehicle was a prior convicted felon.
A search of the driver revealed he was in possession of armor piercing “green-tip” ammunition. A search of the vehicle revealed multiple shotguns, a rifle, and over 100 rounds of shotgun ammunition. The subject on probation was searched and methamphetamine, heroin, and drug paraphernalia was located on his person.
The firearms and ammunition were seized in addition to the drugs and paraphernalia. The subjects were ultimately arrested and booked for multiple felony and misdemeanor charges including felon/addict in possession of a firearm, felon in possession of ammunition, and possession of methamphetamine, to name a few.
