If you noticed heavy traffic on the Northbound 405 Freeway this morning we now know what happened.

Costa Mesa Fire & Rescue crews responded to a vehicle fire located on the northbound 405 freeway at Fairview.

The CMFR crews arrived on scene and located an unoccupied vehicle with active fire blowing out and crews immediately went to work aggressively taking out the stubborn vehicle fire.

The CMFR responding crews included Costa Mesa Engine 82, led by Captain Gary Lilly, and Costa Mesa Engine 81, led by Captain Taylor Voss.

There were no reports of any injuries.

The burned up vehicle looked like a sub-compact but the make and model were not identifiable.
