This morning at 6:48 a.m., a male adult was driving a Toyota pickup truck east on Struck Avenue and turned north at Batavia Street. A male adult was walking east in the crosswalk and was struck by the Toyota.

The pedestrian suffered major injuries and was transported to a local hospital in critical condition.

The driver stopped near Katella and Batavia.

Alcohol or drugs do not appear to be a factor for the driver.

The Orange Police Department Major Accident Investigation Team is investigating the collision.

All lanes of Batavia will be closed from Struck to Katella for approximately three hours. Anyone with information is encouraged to call the Orange Police Department at 714-744-7444.
